PILLOW CARE
We hope you enjoy using your pillow! It is a living creation from the day it is made, subtley transforming in colour throughout its use thanks to the natural dyes. The following recommendations will help you to use and care for your pillow adequately.
How can I heat up or cool my pillow?

Serenity Pillow
The serenity pillow can be used warm or cold depending on what your body and mind needs.
How to warm up the pillow:
-
Microwave
Place a small glass of water next to the pillow in the microwave to keep the pillow contents hydrated.
Heat for 3 minutes at 700 - 800 watts,
or 2 minutes at 900 - 1,000 watts.
---------
For the following methods, very lightly spray the pillow cover with water on each side before warming it up. No more than one spray per side! This keeps the pillow contents hydrated.

-
Bain-Marie (5 -10mins approx.)
-
Or rest it on top of the radiator!

How to cool the pillow:
-
Put the pillow in an airtight freezer bag and cool in the freezer for 2 or more hours. We keep one in the freezer at all times just in case.

Rest the pillow over your eyes and/or forehead. Inhale and exhale slowly, allowing the aroma of the plants to work on your mind, body and spirit.

Lunar Pillow
Comfort your uterus and menstrual discomfort with a warm Lunar Pillow.
How to warm up the pillow:
-
Microwave
Place a small glass of water next to the pillow in the microwave to keep the pillow contents hydrated.

-
Bain-Marie (10-20mins approx.)
-
Or rest it on top of the radiator!

Once the pillow is warm, get into a comfortable position that relaxes the pelvis, abdominal area and lower-back. Place the pillow over your bare tummy, pelvic area or lower back for gentle relief.
How should I care for my pillow?
-
Avoid extreme temperature changes. This means ensuring that the pillow is at room temperature before warming or cooling it.
-
Do not overheat it as you may risk burning the fabric.
-
Never leave your pillow unattended when heating.
-
When freezing your pillow, always do so in a sealable freezer bag.
-
Make sure the pillow doesn’t come into contact with too much water (one light spray before heating is fine and recommend to keep the pillow contents hydrated). If the plants get wetter than this, they will lose their aroma and cause damage the pillow.
-
Store at room temperature and, ideally, in a box (you can use the one you received it in!)
-
Due to the natural dyes, the colour tones of the pillow can vary subtly over time. This is not damage!

~ The life cycle of our pillows ~
We source all the materials (plants, grains and cotton) for our pillows from certified organic suppliers. We make each pillow by hand and in small batches.
We hand-dye our pillows using dyes we make from plants, flowers, roots, and organic vegetable remnants that we collect from local restaurants in Amsterdam. There can be slight variations in colour tone over time due to the natural dying process and use of natural ingredients.
Over time, our pillows will lose their aroma due to the natural life cycle of the plants. The specific amount of time the aroma lasts will be contingent upon (1) frequency of use and (2) care of the pillow. On average, our pillows lose their aroma after 1 to 1.5 years.
When the pillow finally loses its aroma, you can remove the herbal pouch inside and replace it with a new one. You can order a replacement herbal pouch from our website. Alternatively, you can revive the aroma for a little longer by using essential oils of your choosing.

Our pillows are 100% biodegradable. Please only dispose of them in the compost. Keep your crystal for personal use.
